100 Word Challenge Week #19

Darkness
Scared and surrounded with darkness, all I could hear was the roaring thunder. Soon after flashes of white lightning filled the night sky. Immediately, I looked for a candle to light the house, knowing it would not last me long. Finally lighting the candle, I stood by the light as the flame flickered and went out. Left in the obscure darkness, terrified, trying to fall a asleep, only know I would not sleep, not even rest my body.

Scared
The dead silence surrounded my room, as thunder roared through the night sky. Thoughts swam through my mind, as I raced to look out the window, showing off my orange striped pyjamas. Being terrified from the loud boom, I lay in my bed, with eyes glued at my clock. Immediately, I heard it again. Louder this time. In total shock, I raced to my parent's room and feeling the comfort of my mom's arm, I felt I was very safe. Only to know I would not be able to fall asleep anytime soon, because the thunder has been going for the whole night.

Bright light
Being very tired from a long day of gardening, I realized I needed a break. Spotting a yellow bright light, I ran, ready to see what that light was. Racing through the woods and jumping over puddles, I saw a mysterious staircase leading to the unknown. Putting my foot on the first step, I raced to the top, taking in the delightful view of the fascinating ocean. Immediately, my eyes gazed at mountains of money just waiting for me to take it.
"Beep, beep, beep". Just then my alarm went, and in total shock, I realized it was all a dream.

Storm
The blue waves crashed against the shoreline, as my feet were buried in the golden sand. Skipping rocks and taking in the nice day, I suddenly saw a grey cloud hover over the water, with wind picking up incredible speeds. I immediately ran to the nearest place I could see with shelter, as the rain started to get heavy. Flashes of white filled the sky getting bigger every minute. Thunder followed not long after with big booms almost shaking the ground. I hid, terrified of what would happen, knowing I will not be leaving this place any time soon.

Different
I've always wanted to be different. Being a green trash can isn't easy. Staring over the horizon with the reflection of the trees is boring. The same shiny grey bottles enter my body, as I stand still just waiting for people to laugh and make fun of my odd shape. People are always flashing photos of the wild animals and the blue rivers, but nobody ever notices me. Worst of all, people disrespect me as they put rotten fruit and moldy cheese in my body, which makes me want to throw up. I have always dreamed of once stretching my legs and being like everyone else.

                                                                   The Birthday Box
Walking down the stairs, noticing a shiny green wrapped box, I immediately started to stare, with eyes glued to the present. Thoughts were racing through my mind,  as I began running through the house looking for my parents, noticing an empty house.
"Happy Birthday!" My parents hollered.
Being extremely surprised with a big smile on my face, I turned to give my parents a hug then ran to the present. Unwrapping the present, I put my hand in the box and felt the shoes I have been wanting forever. Just then my alarm beeped and I woke up stunned, remembering my birthday is six months away.

Zit

Staring at my dreaded face through the mirror, I immediately turned for my moms advice.
"Mom!" I yelled across the hall.
"What?" she hollered back.
Just then she rushed in with a frightened look on her face.
"What is that?" she said almost looking disgusted, pointing at the red spot on my face.
Unable to answer she bolted off and returned with acne cream. Spreading the white goo on my face, thinking it would help, but the spot just grew and grew until it took up most my face. I then ran to my room, slammed the door, and told my mom I will not be going to school tomorrow.

100 Word Challenge #10

People stop and stare at me. Sometimes if I'm lucky they will take my picture. Children always have an urge to climb on me, a cold stiff statue. Stuck in one spot, wishing I could stretch my legs and run like the children who play around me. I dream of having a voice to talk to my friends. I get tired of staring right ahead, and my arm gets weak as it is always in the air. When a bird stops on my shoulder, I wish I could reach out and touch it, but I am just a statue.

Superdog
I always knew something was different about my dog. I first noticed her bizarre behaviour when she was a small puppy. She could fly. One day my dog and I went to the park to fly our kite. Suddenly, a great windstorm surrounded us blowing our red and yellow stripped kite up a large oak tree. Not knowing what to do, my dog flew through the air grasping the kite between her teeth, and bringing it down to the ground, laying it at my feet. To most people she may look like an ordinary dog, but to me she is my Superdog.

Summer

Accelerating slowly, pressing my foot on the gas as I cruise through the country, taking in the fresh air and green grass. The warm summer breeze makes me wish I was swimming in a cold pool, but that likely wouldn't happen as I still have a long journey to overcome. As I listen to the music on the car radio, my body sways back and forth as I pretend to be a dancer. As the day became night my adventure was almost over. It had been a long day and I knew It was time to rest my body, and continue my adventure tomorrow.

Math
Thoughts filled my mind as I immediately started looking for my math homework due the next day. Re-tracing my steps didn't work, but I knew throwing paper in every which direction would. Hours flew by and no sight of my homework. Searching the whole house I finally come to a conclusion, seeing I have not checked a bedroom. Gripping the door knob, the door opened and their it was, right where I left it.
"Chris!" my mom yelled from the other room. "Time for bed."
Oh great.

Behind the bedroom door

She heard it again, louder this time. Her heart stopped as her eyes were immediately glued to the bedroom door. The sound pierced her ears as she tried to remain calm. Her legs trembled as she  raced to the bedroom door, grabbing hold of the door knob. Her palms were wet with sweat as she opened the door, frightened to see what was on the other side. As she was looking she was shocked to see a rat. In disbelief she raced to the couch, screaming. In the distance she heard laughter.
"Got you!" laughed her annoying brother, as he held out a plastic, squeaking toy rat.

100 Word Challenge Week #5

Fire
Fear was building inside of me as the orange and yellow flames surrounded me. Crowds of people gathered around my apartment as I handed my screaming baby to the heroic fire fighter . Smoke circled the air as the flame grew larger, like arms reaching out, ready to attack me. The fire fighter told me to remain calm, telling me to take his hand. Immediately, I felt safer as I took the mans hand and he led me outside. Tears began racing down my cheeks as I was overcome with emotion. My possessions were gone, but my baby and I were safe.

Dentist
The sound of the drill pierced my ears as I tried relaxing my body in the dentist chair. The blazing light from above stung my eyes as they examined my teeth, checking each individual one which felt like hours. My mouth ached, and my saliva pooled in my mouth. The cavity became a deep crater as the tooth was finally filled.
"No more sweets for the rest of the day" the dentist warned,
but later that day I broke that rule as I took a bite into a sweet, savoury candy bar.

Lazy River
Staring down at me was the appearance of a huge mountain as I floated along the gracefully, relaxing lazy river. Beaming down on me was the blazing yellow sun without a cloud in the sky. Trying my hardest to rest my body, looking down at my sensitive skin to see if it's bright red. Wishing I had brought my umbrella, I immediately started pushing my way back to the start. As the waves grew bigger, my arms got weaker, knowing it had gotten too hard to handle. "I guess my new nickname will be tomato" I said to myself.

 Hockey Game
I was excited to attend my first professional hockey game, but my stomach growled with hunger. As I flew past the big crowd of people I raced to the closest concession stand. As I joined the queue, my mouth watered with the savory smell of French fries. Immediately, the sound in the arena grew loud, as a  horn signaled that a goal has been scored.  My hunger had made me miss the first goal, but I knew I would lose my spot in a heartbeat. "So much for having an amazing first game," I said to myself.

100 Word Challenge by Batman

    Marsh Mellow Mountain

Climbing the rippled, red paper, looking down knowing I could fall to my death on this slippery slope. A hurricane of brown cinnamon flies down making it hard to see the path ahead of me. My footsteps are heavy as I walk up Marsh mellow Mountain. Immediately, I search for Steven, who is holding a  bag. As I get closer, squinting, he looks at me with a puzzled face.
“What's in your bag?" I inquire.
“You'll see” Steven replies.
Reaching the top my foot becomes lodged in the creamy white icing. Not knowing what to do Steven gives me a fork. “Dig yourself out”.
